One day before my holidays and I broke my glasses
Stupid me, I got out of bed in a hurry to answer the phone, sat on the glasses and heard an ominous click. Bye lenses!
Fortunatly last week I had found the glasses I had before this pair. They are not that bad. And as soon as I come back, I will go with the new prescription to have made the new glasses I had postponed.
Still, I an angry for being so careless. And there will be one more thing to do as soon as I come back and one more thing that will cost me extra money.
Do things like that happen to you or are you always careful this your things?

I put my glasses inside my shoe in my bag that I carry to the YMCA and when I got dressed they were all twisted. I have no idea how it happened but they are titanium so I brought them to the office and they twisted them back into shape.

@BelleStarr I was going to buy another pair anyway. Still, I´ll take them to the place where they make lenses. Maybe they can fix them to have as second pair.

I have one, but not as good. Still, I don´t need to wear them all the time.

I also used to wear prescription glasses as I was near-sighted. I already lost count how many glasses I have broken because of my clumsiness, not to mention those I have lost because I left them. Then I had Lasik and it was really a very good investment. I still wear sunglasses though, and I make sure that I do not bring or use my more expensive ones when I will be doing lot of work outdoors. I fear these will suffer the same fate as my glasses.

I don´t think it is worth it to have eye surgery as I only wear them to watch TV or to break them

@Raine38 Doctors helped my conditions some when I had my cataract surgery.

@marguicha Yeah, if you don't have a condition like mine then it is not worth the investment. Mine is really progressing, there was a time that my eye grade is 525-575. Pretty strong!

I am sorry to hear that. I have one pair of backup glasses in case the current one will be broken. Usually my glasses will be kept in the glass case so that there will be a good protection for it. But sometimes the accidents will happen.

I´ll have to take to my holiday the eyeglasses that I had before this pair. Anyway I was going to have them replaced, but thought of doing it after vacations.

I always have a back up. I have a cataract in my left eye so do some work online I have to have my reading glasses available. I try to use them sparingly and utilize my eyes hoping to keep the other eye strong. Glad you found the other glasses.

My friend went to put on a shoe, sat down on the glasses he had placed on the chair and I had to take him to get new glasses. I try to be careful, but things still happen from time to time, like I drop a glass or a dish.

I have gone to sleep with them on for months, have found them on the floor several times. Now that I´m about to go away, I sit over them

I'm so sorry you broke your glasses that way. I'm sure you were ticked off at yourself! Thank goodness you have that old pair. I lost a brand new pair of sunglasses, box and all, in a hotel a few years ago. It still kills me to this day! I'm sure the housekeeper looks cool in her new shades.

I decided I would slim down so I would not break any more glasses by sitting on them
