Liquor Stores Officially Open on Sundays in Mn

Kind of exciting or different news for us here in Minnesita (US). Historically liquor stores have been closed on Sundays based on government regulations. Recently a bill passed allowing liquor stores to CHOOSE if they want to be openon Sundays. No liquor stores on Sunday made it difficult for some drinkers to get their liquor or beer on Sundays. Many people I know have gone over to neighboring states to get their booze on Sundays (Wisconsin is about 35 minutes away from me). Cant say Ive ever had that problem, as I usually have a couple of beers stashed away in the fridge just in case. Lol. Do you think this is a good thing or bad thing? I am thinking it will more localize our economy for those Sunday drinkers who no longer have to commute to a different state. Does your state or country allow liquor stores open on Sundays?

I never really did get why they do that. Get for religion or something to do with religion, but not going to stop people from drinking on Sunday. They will either just buy double on Saturday or another day of the week or go to an other state like you said.

Exactly. And who is to say we should all adhere by whatever religion says no drinking on sundays?

@maezee Indeed, and same people that insist we infringe on their way of life, but there is a easy example of how they infringe on our lives with their beliefs.

@maezee hmmm.. i wouldnt be if i ran a liquor store. But thats just me and my thinling of them not needing to be open everydsy.

There is no liquor store here open on sunday's that i know of. You will have to get it ahead of time if you know you want to drink. It's never a problem for me as I rarely drink anyways.

Canada passed that law a wile back and it's been booming ever since. It's up to private retailers if they want to open on Sundays though.

It makes good business sense. Here in NJ liquor stores are open 7 days a week from like 9am until 10 or 11pm. Plenty of access to booze!

I think so too. Especially on weekends like this one where a lot of folks are off for a long weekend and will be doing plenty of Sunsay drinking! Lol

Always open in California. Such laws prohibiting liquor sales on Sunday are archaic and pointless.
