Why Do Big Booms Turn People On

Not sure if it is a military thing as why I do not like them. Big booms are no big deal in the military. Especially in the Marines, hear them all the time.
What I always preferred is listing to the sound of Tristan's bark. Then Brooklyn's howl is straight pretty. Wolves cannot even compete with her.You can literally hear her adjust to make it sound even more pretty.
German Shepherds cannot howl. Sounds terrible. Kai, shut up. Tristan was no better, maybe slightly, but when he would let out his bark. Not a play bark, not a I am bored bark, but when he let out his bark. I almost never wanted to check. Knew I did not have to because whoever he was barking at was scared crapless.
It was crazy how powerful it was. Many neighbors complimented him over the years. When he barks like that, we smile, no one is going to touch us. Screw your big booms, I have real life.

I have to admit, I read "booms" as something else at first, and I thought, "what's not to like?"
Bet they will be glad when the 4th is all over.

Haha, well no one said you cannot have manly thoughts on here. We keep it respectful most of the time. We are men after all
Yeah, Brooklyn just laid their breathing real heavy as Kai was running from room to room not sure what to do. She was so fun.
Played with her some, gave her hugs other times, fed her, geez, spoiled dog, tried to play music, but computer was to low on speakers. Tristan was old when I did it for him. He is like I am scared but my arthritis is kicking in.

I like booms if I know they're coming, like fireworks. I don't like dogs barking (sorry) -- maybe it's something to do with the neighbor's dogs who usually bark like mad all day when the owners are gone and last night they were at it at midnight-1AM. Ugh.

Agree, probably why dogs hate them so much and if they can see, not sure what that is about either. Dog barks are natural, comes from nature with an innocence, fireworks and gunpowder, is an obsession with not so nice things Lights pretty, but the sound of hearing things blow up in a free country is unnecessary. Again my opinion, but you ever see a veteran nearly crap their pants because it reminds them of the war. Duck under tables. They hate the sounds as much as dogs if not worse.

@crossbones27 It is a pity that people who don't like/have an aversion to loud noises (such as the veterans) - and animals (who have no say so about where they are or what they are subjected to) - are exposed to such things on holidays like the 4th July. I would hope they could leave the area for a bit - but I know that is not always possible. -- As I was leaving the fireworks show last night I was surprised that people had brought dogs with. It seems like a horrible idea. Leave pets at home.
