I said yesterday that I was going to make some so that I would be able to have it for breakfast and then completely forgot about it. But today is baking day so I might as well bake cookies and raisin bread too. I think that everyone wants oatmeal cookies so here's my question. What do you add to your oatmeal cookies. I don't think that I have EVER simply make oatmeal... I have several goodies to choose from. Not that I ever get to eat them lol because of the sugar content, but the raisin bread is going to be mine!!

Not my raisin bread lol. I'm used to how our baked goods taste... my sister can't stand my baking. LOL... you do what you have to. I think that my last batch of peanut butter cookies had half the sugar called for and we use unsweetened peanut butter too!

Raisins, of course. At least that's the way I've always eaten oatmeal raisin cookies. I think I've had oatmeal cookies once and they just don't taste right without the raisins.

@Hate2Iron yes that's a good idea to put chocolate chips in the oatmeal cookies. I would love to taste oatmeal cookies one day. They are healthier for sure

the walnuts I have tried... now you have me thinking about stocking up on a variety of chips and coconut. Can you really ruin a cookie by adding different ingredients... don't think it would stop me from eating them lol!

@Hate2Iron Oatmeal is one of my favorite cookies. I love them plain as well. Yes, you can ruin them by the wrong ingredients....I wouldn't add Tabasco sauce! But chunky cookies with lots of fun things are always fun...just expensive. Raisins are good and I've made them with applesauce too. Yes, Chocolate chips are also good. I don't know about peanut butter or mint chips. I never tried them in Oatmeal cookies and they don't sound appealing to me.

I've eaten them but never made oatmeal cookies. As for oatmeal I have it with sliced bananas in it to liven it up a bit. Sometimes I put brown sugar in the oatmeal (I know not healthy) which is delicious.
