Does mentioning the name in a comment make a difference?

Dear friends,
I find that my name finds a mention in a reply /response that others post for me.
For example : @aishanee(followed by the text)
Does mentioning names in a comment add
some kind of a value or extra weightage that benefits the person In mention ?
Since I'm just a few days old here. I seek your help in this regard.

No, it doesn't add any value. It is just so you will be notified you got a comment directed to you.

@aishanee Another thing it does is let someone know if they are the one being talked to. If you notice, your first comment to my response didn't tag me...it never tags when commenting to a response. But since I replied back to your comment, it will tag you so I know the comment wasn't meant for me.

I am commenting to your response. You are not being tagged but you are still being paid for it. No, it does not add any value whatsoever.
