Diary Tuesday 4th July 2017 I hope Independence Day celebrations wet well for my American friends. I had a very quiet day in, catching up with online projects, laundry, etc. I got a nice postcard from a friend who is on holiday in Whitby. Diary Wednesday 5th July 2017 After much online job searching, I went to the job club at the community centre, meeting many friends I haven’t seen since venturing off to Manchester for most of June. I got a ticket for a day trip to Heysham on the coast in a few weeks time. I’m looking forward to that. I was given some free bread by the canteen staff, before heading to the city centre to renew my bus pass for the coming month. Arthur Chappell

What kind of bread? Seems like the last two days were pleasing for you.

I had an uneventful Fourth. I celebrated by watching the fireworks.

Is it something they do regularly - give away bread?

@Kandae11 yes, they have an arrangement with a local bakery so that food not sold fresh isn't just thrown away when there are elderly, disabled and unemployed people who can make use of it
