I went to the dentist early last year for scaling ( removing the calculus, tartar ) in between my teeth. The dentist told me that I have periodontitis. This means serious gum problem that had recede, pull away from my teeth, form pockets where bits of food get stuck even easier and turned into calculus or tartar very quickly.
The dentist had advised me to brush my teeth 2-3 times a day, gurgle with water after every meal and continue scaling every 6 months.
Since he said 2-3 times, I had decided to brush my teeth 4 times a day. That will be after breakfast, teatime, lunch and dinner.
Do you think brushing teeth 4 times a day is a crazy routine?

They say to do it after eating. Most i know only do it 1 -2 times a day.

@peachpurple 4 times a day? Never heard of it. I do it 2 times a day, that's the limit for me.

@peachpurple I can't say too many times, because, we need to decide case by case. But, I don't think 4 times would be too many for you, as already your dentist advised you to do it 2 or 3 times a day. So it's neither crazy nor too many.

That is okay - 3 times a day and gargle after eating.

That is what we were told as children... maybe just be gentle with the brushing??

@peachpurple Sounds like you are in line for a new one... a soft one I hear is the best. :) I would look to see if you can find a peachy-purple one. ;)

I think if it saves your gums, it is a great idea, but using floss or a waterpik would also help.

Absolutely good advice to brush teeth frequently. Gum issues can lead to heart issues.
