India's loss against West Indies proves India needs young players.

July 9, 2017 8:23pm CST
West Indies demolished India in T20 match at Sabina Park Jamaica. India scored decent 190 runs in 20 overs. West Indies scored it with 9 wickets in hand. Lewis was not out on 125 runs with 12 sixes. It shows India needs young players. Ashwin and Jadeja are old horses who are useless in One-dayers and T20s. It is good that Rishabh Pant got a chance to bat.

Even Dhoni is...Dhoni has been dignified all the way, he needs to step down, Dinesh Karthik can do the job, as can jadhav. So he is dispensable with his now not effective batting.

@sathviksouvik .Of course, we need to rotate spinners...but even senior players like Dhoni need to vacate the space for younger ones. When Dinesh Kartik was there, we could have included Karun Nayar instead of Dhoni. And given chance to other spinners since Ashwin is no longer as effective as he once was and neither Jaddu.

@vandana7 Thanks Vannyji, I fully agree with you. When IPL is played we find plethora of talents. Spinners like Axar Patel, Piyush Chawla, Amit Mishra, pacers like Unadkat are waiting for opportunities. Batsmen like Karun Nayar, S Aiyar, Suryakant Yadav, Manish Pandey are waiting for opportunities. India pulls and drags the old horses. There is no point for that.

@sathviksouvik ... It is also not as if he had a record to establish unlike Sachin, even there it was not justified. Look at Michael Clarke. He was the captain for such a brief period after Ponting. And Ponting was also not around for that long. We need to look for the country...I thought Dhoni realized it, but why he continued with one days is a mystery to me.

I don't think that age is a matter. If the performance is bad constantly they can take decisions and get chances to newcomers.

@sathviksouvik yes there should be chances for the youngsters from all the states upon their performances.

Thanks S George, yes there should be a yardstick to rate players. It is seen that the same Indian side is being picked in one dayers for last 3 years.
