In a riveting 3 set match Johanna Konta defeated Simona Halep 6-7, 7-6, 6-4 to advance to the semi-finals. Not since Virginia Wade in 1977 has a British Woman advanced this far at Wimbledon. Konta next meets Venus Williams, a straight set winner over Jelena Ostapenko 6-3, 7-5. Konta holds a 3-2 head to head advantage over Williams, but Venus won their last meeting. It should make for an interesting semi. In other news Novak Djokovic moved into the quarterfinals with a easy win over Adrian Mannarino 6-2, 7-6, 6-4. There is some concern though as Djokovic needed a medical time out to have his shoulder examined and treated. Hopefully, it does not ruin an expected semi-final against Roger Federer. Source: ESPN

Venus should be driven without Serena around but can get erratic.

That is true, Williams hits everything so hard and goes for her shots, she is prone to a lot of unforced errors. The positive is she has won 5 titles at Wimbledon so Venus is very comfortable on grass.

Yes, I am watching them now. Breakfast at Wimbledon Murray and Querry split the first two sets and are tied 5-5 currently.

Fantastic match Simona was serving for the victory in the 2nd set but could not put her away. Kudos to Konta

Djokavic always needs a medical time out.

She certainly made it. But I'm sure Serena will handle her well.

Can't wait to see if Venus wins again and I hope Djokovic is fit, because a match between him and Federer would be a true tennis battle @dgobucks226

A bad shoulder is certainly not good for any tennis player.

He actually had to stop playing today and retire from his match. It was his elbow causing him the pain.

I enjoyed Wimbledon very much this year. So pleased for Johanna as she has improved so much in such a short period of time. I was very happy to see Federer win the title too as I felt he deserved to be there. He treats the sport with such honor and respect.
