How fast kids acquire learning

On each Friday we have a "Friday market". Which is a weekly market in neighbourhood. People go there for buying vegetables, and small household items. My kids love this Friday market as they get ice-cream, some other kids special items, like chowmein, chhole bhature and toys. Today morning I was surprised to see my younger daughter has saved few money for this Friday market, as she wanted to spend it in today. As she was counting her coins I was wondering how fast children learn these things. she is just five and saved a handsome amount from her day to day spending to buy few things of her interest, without any guidance.
