It's called the century plant, it blooms once when it reaches about 100 years old then dies

Ok, so I'm a copy cat but I only wanted to do the same thing he did, it's kinda fun. I found this old picture of mom's Agave plant, apparently it was already pretty old when she bought it and soon after it bloomed it died. Desert plants grow very slowly because of the harsh climate. Some plants take up to 50 or more years to gain 3 feet of growth. I think some pine trees are like that to, is the correct? Agave plants are intimidating and when mom had her's the city of El Paso asked her to keep the tips cut so no one would get hurt. Have you ever seen an Agave plant in bloom? Do you know what kind of alcoholic drink they make from it? So, since I'm asking so many questions, do you how old the Agave plant is when it blooms? And now to see the disappearing title...........
