Maybe this is something that is New to a lot of people here, and something many here have heard nothing about. Here in Tacoma, WA this is the New Big craze. If you are on Facebook you can even check out Tacoma Rocks and see just how Big of a craze it is around here.
The main object is go to like somewhere where they have a lot of Rocks that are loose in different sizes, clean them up, and then paint them, and hide them. You use Acrylic paints and different markers. One of the popular markers that everyone tends to use is Posca.
So are you aware of this Big craze? Does your area do this? Would you be interested in doing this? Above pictured, are some of the rocks I have done.

It is a lot of Fun and a Great way to show off your Creativity in a new way, and meet a lot of interesting people in the process.

That is part of the Fun of the whole deal. Paint the rocks with paint, markers, etc and then either leave them on one of the walls where it is easier for someone to find and either keep for a while, or leave or hide somewhere else. The reason everyone hides them is to give the kids and us adults something to look for when we are at the Parks, etc. You can hide them in Trees, etc or some people create it into a Treasure Hunt type deal.

This is very beautiful! I especially like the stone you drew it as a mouse
Actually some time ago I borrowed a few books about this kind of art from the library. Unfortunately I haven't started to draw mine yet. The problem is I don't know where to find stones

Here in the US you can get stones to paint on from like the Rivers, stores like Home Depot or Landscaping places. I Love being able to be creative like this.

Thanks!! I do enjoy doing this, and am always creating a lot of different ones all the time. I would consider this productive even if it sometimes might take away from times where I could be more active with posting in here.

It is a lot of Fun. Helps take your mind off of other problems, and a Great way to be creative. The only thing is it does take Gas and time to go and hide the rocks somewhere, but the Fun of it is also knowing I am making someone's day brighter when they find one.

Hmm I thought it was just something going on here in our small town. That someone decided it was just a good way to spread some happiness. I saw a post for our town about someone finding one. Then today my daughter and her kids found 5 of them around town. They re-hid them for others to find. I think it is so cool!

This trend got bit via the Kindness Project. Our little town has a big Facebook group of 7000 people. Back when it started toward the end of winter it was really popular. There were lots of painters and people out every day walking around with their kids looking for rocks. It has dwindled down a lot now. It is rare to find rocks in town anymore and only a handful of the people who were painting rocks still are. I have to get back to it. It has been a few months since I painted last. I was very busy with my kids over the summer and didn't have time to paint.

Well, right now it is really Big here, and many of us just started around May or so doing this. I enjoy doing it and it is quite relaxing. Hiding them is part of the Fun as well.

Yes I am aware of this a friend of mine and my boyfriends did this for our camping event we had in the woods last week she did not paint the whole rock she painted certain things on them and hid them by trees for people to find and have. She left the big ones that spelled woods rocks in the woods around a tree for people to come and get.

Yes, it is so quick and easy to do up a couple of rocks no matter where you are, and be able to hide them. Sounds like something your friends also enjoy.

Where we camp the rocky river has a billions of smoothe and flat ricks. I started painting on them with a message and left them in the river with my email on them and waited...several were found and responded on my e mail....that was years ago, I wouldn't do that ..the email on them, today. My sister's grands are growing up so when they are board we tell them to pick out some rocks from the river and paint on them for their mothers gardens. I use acrylic paint on the rocks and spray them when dry with a sealing spray. Great fun for all.

That's neat! I would do it but am a lousy painter. In this big city there are not many rocks but maybe by the river. Maybe I could write messages like "You found me" or "Smile" with a smiley.
