Favorite 80's Metal Songs #6 - "For Those About to Rock (We Salute You)"

What better way to balance out my electronic music series than with a bunch of loud guitars?  Hence, my Favorite 80's Metal Songs countdown. You want to talk about loud? The #6 spot belongs to "For Those About to Rock (We Salute You)" by AC/DC. From their 1981 album of the same name, "For Those About to Rock (We Salute You" was released as a single in 1982. The song is famous for it's use of cannon fire (inspired by the wedding of Prince Charles and Princess Diana, believe it or not.) This is one heavy duty rocker. It reached #15 in the UK, and #4 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart. This is a tune meant to fire people up, so it's no surprise that pro sports teams play it during games. The New England Patriots, Houston Texans, Columbus Blue Jackets, and the Memphis Grizzlies all use the song in one shape or form. For Those About to Rock We Salute You was the album that followed the band's mega hit record, Back in Black. And as great an album Back in Black is, I'll take "For Those About to Rock (We Salute You)" over any song on that album. Every time. (Info verified by Wikipedia)

Enjoy "Highway to Hell" and "You Shook Me All NIght Long" from AC/DC. Great songs. A local band I listen to play these all the time and they always receive good feedback from the crowd.

"Highway to Hell" is my favorite by them. But this one ranks up there.

This was also written as a tribute to Bon Scott, wasn't it? I'm purely a Bon-era fan...but I do like "You Shook Me All Night Long"....just not as much as "Problem Child."

I'm not sure. I can't find anything that says so. Sounds plausible, though.
