Atari use to be the top videogame console makers during the late 1970's and up to 1980's. They were killed by Nintendo,Sega and Sony during the 90's and they stopped making consoles. They did produce videogames but never made consoles when Playstation and Xbox became dominant. It looks thin slender and compact which is cool. I just hope it will have good games and they can compete against Sony and Microsoft. People speculate it wont have CD's. This console might have digital games only.
Today Atari reveals the design of their upcoming AtariBox console. Source: http://bit.ly/2u16SDq Thank you SO MUCH for watching and supporting my content. Fo...

@CaptAlbertWhisker, I really wish I still had that console and all the cartriges. I went from the atari 2600 to super nintendo.
The Super Nintendo Entertainment System™: Super NES Classic edition is pure 16-bit retro gaming perfection. This new miniaturized system is pre-loaded with 21 of the all-time greatest games, like Super Mario Kart™ and the first-ever release of Star Fox™ 2.

I saw this, but my thought is that it might be a niche thing, just appeal to a few of the nostalgics out there. Just have to wait and see on this one

Yeah they are competing against giants like Microsoft , Nintendo and Sony. They need to have 3rd party game develops to garner interest,

@librarygeek1980 They may appeal to 70's 80's and 90's kids but they must do something to get the attention of millennials.

I saw that Albert. It is cool but of course I am not getting one. I remember my son had the original Atari around 30 yrs ago with lots of games. I got it used for him for a very cheap price.

I like an underdog story. This company got bankrupt so I want it to have a comeback. I want an underdog success story. I hope this console is good and I hope it will sell well.

@TiarasOceanView if they have good games, I will. I only remember them for Pong and Asteroid. I am a 90's kid but I know what Atari is because of some videogame history documentary.

I think I once had an Atari 2600. I played river raid, frogger and space invaders on it. Fun machine and it had cartridges back in the 70s.

I find the Atari 2600 very classy looking because of the wood parts adds sophistication. Now consoles are all plastic.
