Saved money on three books and will earn SB for the purchase

There are three books that I really want to read:
Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare - book 2 of the Dark Artifices series
The You I've Never Known by Ellen Hopkins
World's Collide by Chris Colfer - book 6 in the Land of Stories series
I knew that buying these books online would be cheaper, so that is what I did. My first choice was to order them from Amazon, as they are cheaper there than on the Barnes and Noble website.
After I activated my Swagbucks Shop and Earn for Amazon I learned that you can't earn any SB from buying books through Amazon. That was disappointing and I don't understand why you are limited in what Amazon items can earn you SB.
Since I was making an online purchase I wanted to get SB for it, so I decided to buy the books from Barnes and Noble instead, which also participates in Swagbucks Shop and Earn. The books were slightly higher in price than on Amazon but in the end I spend less because I also got a 10% off coupon code that I used when placing my order.
So, I ended up buying the books I wanted, saved some money, got free shipping on my order, and will get SB credited to my account. It won't be a big amount since the total is not big and the payout is 1 SB per $1 but every little bit helps to get my closer to the 2500 SB I need to redeem for my PayPal cash. I am currently a little less than halfway to go. Fingers crossed that I won't have any issues with that purchase being credited to my Swagbucks account.

I also use the Swagbucks site and I like to save up to redeem for Paypal. I don't use the Shop and Earn option that much, usually I earn SB through surveys, games, and the daily poll.

For me Shop and Earn is not frequent either. Though there have been times where I did make online purchases but forgot to do it via Swagbucks.

@dramagirl26 I've heard of ebates. If I am already on Swagbucks and they let me earn with shopping online, I am not sure I want to sign up to ebates. While on Swagbucks we earn SB that we can later redeem for cash, I assume with ebates it's straight up cash, no?

@lovebuglena I've done it once through SB, but most of the time I do it through ebates.

I am not all that enthused about SB. They offer Amazon gift card rewards but buying books on Amamzon doesn't count?

Books, movies, music and a lot of other purchases on Amazon do not earn SB. I wonder why that is. Makes no sense to me. Everything should earn SB in my opinion.

@lovebuglena Those would be the only items I get on Amazon. Me and everyone else so SB doesn't want to shell out all those credits. No pay off for them.

@JohnRoberts See your point. Sucks though. Because if I need to get something from Amazon and also want to buy some books too, I'd rather get all of it from Amazon and save on shipping. But I don't want to miss out on earning SB for have to split the orders up. Books from Barnes and Noble (online) and other stuff from Amazon.
