What a Strange Bichon Frise

In December my female Bichon Frise went into heat. I had the male and female separated because my female was only 14 months old. However, my boyfriend decided that they should mate and let them loose in the yard.
The puppies were born on the 12th of February with no complications. She gave birth to 2 male puppies and one female. At first the three tiny little puppies all looked the same. It wasn’t until they were around a month old that I noticed one of the dogs was very unique and not the same as the other two.
The two dogs I have are purebred Bichon Frise. One is a black Bichon Frise and the other is a gray Bichon Frise. She gave birth to a chocolate brown Bichon, one black – and I mean black Bichon and the third one was black and white.
The male Bichon has a white Bichon mother and a black Bichon father. My female Bichon mother is black and her father is white. Guess that counts for the mixture in color that I had.
But what is amazing is Kiko. He is not a Bichon at all. I still have no idea what he is or where he came from.
What do you think of my weird dog? He is not a Bichon but his parents are. My boyfriend fell in love with him so we kept him. The female went to my girlfriend who gave me my female dog. The other male is simply adorable and I could not part with him. He is so loving and kind and a real baby.

Someone somewhere up the line must have not been "pure" and so Kiko is what is known as a "throwback".

@petatonicsca Yes you are right. He is a cute dog and he is our dog now. My boyfriend won't give him away for the world. He can be funny at times and trying at other times. He is really smart and normally is the first one to do something between him and his brother.

@poehere A very cute dog. I would not care if he were not what you expected.

Omg! That is so strange, but not surprising. Genes skip generations and someone goofed in an adorable way. My cleaning lady just showed me photos of a white bichon that she had to babysit this week for three days. He was a fluffball, and I WANT him!!!!

I know what you mean. They are so adorable and great dogs. I have a black one with brown, grey and white on him. I also have a gray. Now I have a little brown one and a new white one. I love the dogs. They are such calm dogs and make such good pets. Even thought Kiko is different he is still adorable.

Hmm, it looks like maybe some shenanigans went on out there in your yard.
