Kolak Pisang is ripe banana (usually banana that is more often boiled or fried) boiled with addition of coconut milk and brown sugar. Add one or more pandanus leaves. First boil 200 ml of water, then add brown sugar (about 3 spoonfuls) or it depends on your taste. Add bananas and stir it well. Finally add two pananus leaves and coconut milk. Stir it well until it is fully cooked. Such other fruits as durian, yam, and sugar palm fruit can be added. "Kolak Pisang" is usually served during Ramadhan especially eaten at the beginning of the break fasting time.

That looks good, if only coconut milk wasn't so expensive here...

In India, we add some more ingredients like curd, honey, coconut, sugar, and Ghee and prepare this dish. We do not add any leaves. Water is not boiled but it is used in the cool condition. This we call PANCHAM BRUTAN AND offered to Lord Shiva at the time of prayer. After the prayer it will be distributed to one and all.

I like bananas so this might be tasty. The brown sugar is a nice touch
