High blood pressure

My grandmother and my dad had high blood pressure with heart condition problems, erratic heart beat. My late aunt passed away with a heart failure which she had ten years ago. She passed away last year.
My dad is under medication for high blood pressure and his bp reading is stable now, 125/77 compare to the past, his reading was 145/99.
Now, I am worried whether High blood pressure is herediterary or not. I had read that it is part of the reason but not 100%. Majority of the causes could be related to food consumption and sedentary lifestyle, blogging online daily.
Should I cut down on blogging? I had just started to earn well at Mylot now but it will be a dismay to cut down blogging here.
Any advice?

funny you should ask , I was just looking over my dads health report from the doctors visit and I didn't realize I am taking after him..Instead of my mom, I am border line diabetic and he is .. we both had strokes that were were able to walk away from no lasting effects.. Both have eyes issues , hypertension. So i read what else he has and I need to find a way to make sure I don't get it.. Both my parents have high blood pressure, min is up too.. Now i have cut out all salt, and no matter what , I walk even for just a little every single day , even in the rain. Stay active, you don't have to give up blogging.

@peachpurple I will tell you the way I found out.. I was at the ER for kidney stones and had issues with my right hand..They did a head scan on me and it turns out the left side of my brain showed I had had a stroke, the area was white or showed shines.. I did not know and I didn't have any symptoms.. I am sure it was from stress or my blood pressure The problem was from the year 2011 i had severe stress in my life and most likely it happened around 2013, they told me this I believe last year.. Now I might not be as lucky next time.. I have to calm way down.. that is another reason I walk beside taking my dog out. oh and I am 53, maybe I was 48, 49 when i had it.

very sorry about it. Blood pressure in most of the cases appears to be a hereditary. I observed many people having this problem as a hereditary. The reason is not acceptable though. For me YOGA is the only solution for this problem.

My father has had BP since many years(around 30+ I believe), and he was slightly overweight. My mother (who is no more) also had BP and weight as well as arthritis issues.
Perhaps that made us kids more alert and we have been in control of our weights. But now I am putting up some belly fat due to my sedentary job and some stress.
But i still manage to walk 2-3 kms at times, or do some stretching, but need to do more.

Besides yoga, meditation and brisk walking, will that reduce blood pressure?

If you can manage to walk more or exercise a bit more, may be you can manage with same amount of blogging and mylotting.
Also, take some breaks while working on the system. Do some stretching, as well as do some eye exercises, or at a minimum, blink your eyes in between.

Maybe you are right, lack of sleep, spending too much time blogging, 5 hours daily... gotta cut down.

I wouldn't worry about blogging but if I were you I would definitely keep a watch on your blood pressure. Yes it is hereditary so you are at risk. Try to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Hmm... maybe I should cut down on the hours of blogging. I need to buy a blood pressure checker. Need to walk in shopping mall often too.

Hypertention is hereditary but it is manageable. A good diet, exercise, good fluid intake and rest can help reduce the risk of hypertention. Ive been working for about 7 years now as a nurse and this is the first time that blogging is been related to hypertention.

@Neiltarquin So, blogging has nothing to do with hypertension? My hubby is just trying to cease my blogging routine?

Stress and lack of rest/sleep can but blogging, I don't think so, I find blogging a stress reliever.
