Kenny Chesney Songs and Nuggets of My Past

Kenny Chesney is one of my favorite artists. I enjoy so many of his songs that it would take too long to list them all. Some of his songs remind me of points in my past. Sometimes the memories are happy ones. Sometimes they are poignant. This Kenny Chesney song, in some ways, describes the early relationship between my wife and me. A lot of my friends thought she was wrong for me. I'm glad to say we were right and they were wrong. 30 years later we are still together while most of them are on their second or third marriages. Do you have a song, or songs, that remind you of specific people or events from your past?

Only a couple songs I wish I could forget because they remind of someone I wish I could forget.

I know exactly what you mean. There are a couple, I won't name them, that cause exquisite pain when I listen to them. I will admit they've helped me write some great scenes.

I do have songs that remind me of the past-either good or bad times. Your still the one by Shania Twain is one that reminds me of the same thing you described here-nobody thought my husband and I would make it past a year-we have been married for 13 years. =)

Our hearts knew better than our friends, didn't they?

I love Kenny Chesney but then again I'm a huge country music fan. I have many songs that remind me of people or something from the past but the one song I Will Survive was my theme song when I got divorced

My theme song after my fibro diagnosis was "We're Not Gonna Take It" by Twisted Sister.

As long as she doesn't start playing Haggard and Jones you don't have to worry.

@DWDavis - I do like both of them, so I'd be cool with it.

When my husband and I started dating he was a widow and I was divorced. Most of his family didn't want it to work which is one reason we eloped. I like Kenny's music, but I do think it's time he settles down!

I'm not very familiar with this singer, but yes some songs are almost like time travel to me.

It has been a wonderful, and at times challenging, journey my wife and I have been on.
