I´ll call the uber in 10 minutes.

The uber has been very good for me as money goes. But the normal cab drivers here are very angry and I cannot blame them. In my country, to get a license to drive a taxi, the car has to be not more than a few years old. They need a special insurance for passengers too. Uber cars don´t ask for any of those things and anyone with a car can make some extra money there. One of the thing that have happened is that a couple of Uber drivers have raped girls that called them after a party. The company does nothing to them, not even take them out of their role, much less giving their names to the policemen. Still I will now take an Uber. It is very inexpensive and I´m sure no one will want to do anything to me Do you have Uber cabs where you live. Have you had problems like the ones I´ve told?

@celticeagle I hope so. And although uber are less expensive, the passenger is covered by an insurance if there is an accident.

I should say that there is an enormous amount of problems between them and the Taxi drivers of what seems yesteryear. I cannot blame them for feeling the way they do either. This is a crazy country to live in sometimes.

And one of the things is that taxis belong to people that pay taxes and uber is a company that does not pay a cent to the country.

@marguicha Most of the Taxi Drivers the normal ones have protested peacefully and they are still on strike some of them too. They had to pay for their career which what I call un paston a load of money to start off with. This is happening in a lot of gremios now also.

We don't have Uber over here just the normal taxis. I can't recall any incidence of taxi drivers raping girls

Yes, they have uber cabs here too. From what I hear it is the same problem with regular cabs complaining. With the economic situation here unless it is absolutely necessary the local do not take cabs only the tourists so it is a real battle as to who gets the money.

We do have Uber in Florida, not in the town that we live in now but that's because we are in a small town.

I prefer Uber drivers, There had been horror stories about scamming and robbing taxi drivers. Uber drivers have less controversies.
