Homemade almond butter

I thought I would do a discussion of the few things I have made lately. It was easy to make in the food processor, just by adding a little oil and some sea salt. It does take 2 cups of almonds , which will blend better if roasted first, as the almonds are raw. It is fun making my own food products , as I am on a plant based diet, which is much more healthy, and I do know what the ingredients are, unlike what is bought in the store. I have lost some weight, being on a plant based diet, but very slowly. I do feel better, and have been told I am looking better, so I know I am doing the right thing eating better.

I intend to, as I am losing weight, slowly but surely. I don't want to lose to fast, as I don't want yo end up putting it back on again. I have struggled with my weight, most of my life. I sure don't intend to ruin a good thing.

@allen0187 Thank you. It is a slow process, as the weight is coming off. I don't want to lose it to fast, as it would be easy to put it back on again. I am enjoying making my own food, and going to continue for as long as I am able.

We are on a plant based menu (for many years now) and love making things like our own almond butter and so much more. It is great to know what we are eating is wholesome and making our own products is a great start.

You are so right. At least we know what is in the food that we make ourselves. The chemicals in the foods that are in the stores, are very harmful, and that is why people are always so sick. I hope to continue my journey in a plant based diet.

@rosekiss Making things at home is something we really enjoy. From Almond Butter to Tomato Sauce and frozen zucchini, we have a nice pile of items ready for us to use when we are in the mood for food! Plant based menus seem to be ideal for those wanting to get healthy or stay healthy.

I have a food processor but I haven't tried to make the peanut butter yet. I think I shall try to make it. Since it is homemade, it is supposed to be healthier.

Homemade peanut butter tastes much better than any that you buy in the store. I will be making it again today, as I am almost out. It is absolutely delicious, and I eat it without putting it on toast. I am really having a lot of fun making my own foods, as they are healthy, and I know what is in them.

@youless I have as I have made it twice already. In fact I will post a picture of it and start a discussion on it. It is so delicious that I can't stop eating it., which isn't good, as everything should be eaten in moderation.

I certainly have. I know that others won't feel the same way, and that is fine. I just know what works and is the best thing for me, so I am going to stick to it. I do so enjoy making my own foods, as I have made several.

@Freelanzer Absolutely, as what you buy in the store has a lot of chemicals in them. Most of them, I can't even pronounce them, so I sure don't want to put anything in my body, I can't pronounce. What I make tastes better anyway.

It is easy to make, and does take a little trial and error to get it right the first time. Now, that I have made it a couple of times, it is becoming much easier.

I still eat some eggs, although not that many. They are hard to give up, and I know it would be best to stop eating them. That is the only thing that I am eating that I really need to give up, as I have given up on meat and cheese, and milk.

I am losing ever so slowly too. I am not in a hurry to lose what I need to lose as I know it will come off in time. At least now, I can lose weight and feel good about it, as I am living more healthy, so that I don't end up putting it back on.
