Boston Celtics have Kyrie Irving on their wish list?

Former Cleveland Cavaliers general manager David Griffin believes that the Boston Celtics have current guard Kyrie Irving who has requested a trade from the team that LeBron James built, would welcome a trade to the Boston Celtics. Irving made his request to leave the Cavaliers via the trade route after Griffin was not able to get a contract extension with team owner Dan Gilbert. Maybe Griffin leaving the team set off the wheels of Irving wanted to leave the team even though he claims he wants to be the leader of the team other the Cavaliers as long as LeBron James is the face of the franchise. It could happen since the Cavaliers could receive guard Isaiah Thomas for Irving since if James leave the Cavaliers after the 2017- 2018 basketball season as a free agent, Thomas would replace James as the face of the Cavaliers.

That is an interesting scenario. As a Celtics fan I like what Isaiah has done for Boston. We need a center!

Your team need a player that can get your team past the Cavaliers while James is on their roster.

I won't be surprised but Celtics still have Thomas and I doubt if both Irving and Thomas can play together. A straight up trade between Thomas an Irving could happen but I doubt if the Cavs pull the trigger. I think Irving stays put in Cleveland.

But would Irving be that much of an upgrade over Thomas considering the far greater salary.
