While a one hit wonder in the US, the Easybeats for a time were huge in their native Australia. “Friday on My Mind” has the distinction of being the first Australian international hit and considered by many down under their greatest pop song. The band was formed in 1964 by George Young and Harry Vanda in Sydney. From the album “Good Friday,” “Friday on My Mind” was written by Young and Vanda and shot from down under to US Billboard #16. The song connects with listeners with its work week tedium theme counting the days until the weekend. The catchy guitar riffs are reminiscent of a future band Young would be associated with. The group’s popularity waned by 1968 and the Easybeats disbanded. Young and Vanda remained busy producing, writing and fronting other groups. That band Young was later associated with? George is producer/manager for his younger brothers Angus and Malcolm and that band of theirs named AC/DC.
Subtitled and remixed with high quality sound! R.I.P. Stevie Wright (20.12.1947 – 27.12.2015)

Gary Moore covered this in the 80's. I dig both versions.
