2015 – Dark Horse Comics – Spoiler alerts
One of the great clichés of rock music is the band that claims to have sold its soul to the devil. In this novel, 1970’s glam rock megastars, MotherFather are too stoned to remember how but they actually ended up doing just that.
Their final tour, with the band accompanied by several groupies (who seem to be vanishing one by one), a very sinister manager and a TV documentary crew, runs into incredible danger from dark forces the band has unleashed.
Funny, and dark, with a lot of influence from Spinal Tap, and lot of pop-culture referencing, but the band members themselves are totally unlikeable unsympathetic jerks.
The art work by Tony Parker is terrific, and the book ends with a spoof discography of the band’s albums and cover art.

There was an American TV series with that theme called A Year At the Top. One of the stars was Paul Shaffer, who went on to be David Letterman's music director for over 30 years. (The other was Greg Evigan, who later went on to star in BJ and the Bear, proving that he didn't sell his soul or he would've had a better premise for a TV series!)

@arthurchappell -- I think it lasted three or four episodes. It was one of those "blink and you've missed it" moments on TV.

@arthurchappell .....I'd find something else to do I think. I have that blasted deep and dark depression and dark read could make me go do the rabbit hole.
