Chili Corn Dog

I was hungry and wanted a chili dog. I had the chili but the hot dogs were frozen and I didn't want to wait for them to thaw out. That is when I noticed that I had a corn dog in the freezer. I heated it and the chili up, poured the chili on the corn dog, added onions, cheese and catsup and ended up having a pretty tasty chili corn dog. Have you ever tried this?

Uhhh.... no, And hope I never do have that, Velvet! (I won't eat hot dogs or bologna. I know what they actually put into those "delicacies"... ) I would like to point something out to you, though... Hot dogs can be thawed quickly by leaving them in their package and filling a bowl with very hot water. It takes about 15 minutes for Pretty to thaw a package of hot dogs that way. Or, about five minutes if you use the defrost setting on the microwave.

Good ways to do it. I was just so hungry that I wanted something right away. I need to start dividing up a package of hot dogs cause I don't eat them that often and if there was only like two in a package they could be thawed like you said and I wouldn't waste any.

@DaddyEvil I am going to start doing that. That way nothing will get wasted.

@velvet53 We buy the family size packages of meats and divide it up into a package that works for us before we freeze it. I usually use Ziploc Freezer Bags (one quart size).

@paigea They sure do. I usually always have burger made up for taco, sloppy joes and things like that. I freeze them already cooked so it makes it so much easier for me.

I was afraid that the outer part of the corn dog would make it taste funny but it didn't. Let me know if you try it.
