Marmalade?

Mango marmalade and ice cream

I have a neighbor downstairs who is from Hungary. He is a nice guy but since his English is not great (better, however than my Hungarian) it takes some time to communicate, but we do manage. He likes to cook things out of his head and most of the time the results are pretty good. Today he told me he made Mango Marmalade and gave me a nice portion. I did not have any bread to spread it on, but I did have some "Emergency Ice Cream" in the freezer. The color was not yellow but it had a great flavor.

I like orange marmalade but this was more of a paste consistency.
