The Gods were playing noughts and crosses

Recently we camped at a French campsite which must have been reasonably close to an airport. At some point, one of us looked up and the sky looked like giants were playing noughts and crosses. Jet trails were criss-crossing each other across the sky. I couldn’t help wondering where they were all going and what the future held for the passengers on board. Only a few days later our plane to Vienna was making its own jet trails across the sky.

Striking photos. It's Zorro made a slash in the sky.

i've always loved seeing those twin white lines across a blue sky, but i've never seen so many like those and criss-crossing too. that is so cool!

When we flew back from Austria we saw crossed lines below us. That was pretty awesome too.

And thanks for reading. I thought of you at one point when we saw the vast amounts of wood that people stock up for the winter.

That's the first thought that came into my mind when I saw them.

@judyev those intersecting lines give me the impression of great violence being done. I much prefer a curvy shoreline.

Great violence? I'm glad I have a very mundane imagination.
