Working On a New Book

Sorry I haven't been here today. My thoughts are going nuts at the moment as I work on a brand new story. So far it doesn't have a title. It's leaning towards a romance, which was unexpected, so we'll see if it continues on that track or goes on another. The setting for this story is New York City. Google Earth is great for letting a person know what New York City looks like.
I'm not going to tell you what this is about, as I really don't know yet. I'm five pages and 2465 words into the story so far. It does sound like a fun story. I can say it's timeline is current, so I don't need to do any historic research for it. I do need to figure out a title for it before I save and close it for today.
So other than going to the pool and taking a two hour nap after posting my Bible Study, I haven't done anything else today.
How about you? What have you been doing today? Thanks for reading.

I am having fun with this one. I usually have the title before I start writing. This time I only had a vague idea of how to get it started. Yes, my characters all take on a life of their own and they are my friends as I flesh out their characters, which is what I'm doing at the moment. That's also why I have no idea if this is going to remain a romance or become a different genre.

I've been thinking about this one for a few days now, so thought it was a good idea to start getting it down. I hope it goes well also. How long have you been working on your book? I hope you can get it done soon. No, it isn't easy writing a book. It takes a lot of time. Thank you, very much.

@just4him I feel so lucky. I have some great friends here and everyone knows my boyfriend. So there were a lot of people who saw my dog, but had no idea who it belonged to. With everyone's stories and help we finally found her. There were so many different stories and most of them were untrue. It was the 4 guys at the beach who knew the truth and took us way down the road to where these two guys lived.

This is how I do it. First, it takes time. Writers block happens. When it does, I work on another that has been started and stalled by writers block. Eventually I finish my books. Right now I have approximately - I would need to do a count on them - 16 finished stories. I have over 50 titles. So I have a lot of stories to choose from. I haven't had a new story idea in a year. That one got stalled too. And before that it has been a few years before I worked on anything new. I didn't think I would get any new ideas with how many I have yet to complete. I have enough work for many years to come.
