Rain, Rain, Go Away

I'm about 151 miles north of Houston and it's been raining pretty good now for the last two days and according to the weather, it's gonna keep this up clear up until Saturday of this next week. I knew I should have built an Ark. So far the rain has been intermittent enough for the ground to drink it up, but I have a feeling that will change soon. Fortunately I am on high ground but the only road in and out of where I live has a deep dip that goes right over a creek, so I have a feeling it will have bouts of being covered over. This makes me mad of course because I've been waiting on a check in the mail that 'should' have arrived on Thursday. Apparently the company sent it by snail mail and with the dip being flooded, the mail lady isn't going to make it in and I'll not make it out to get it to the bank unless we both time it just right. I feel bad for my donkeys though because even though they have a lean-to to get under, they would prefer standing under trees. Now I know where the terms Dumb-a** and Jack-a** come from. If you see me swimming passed your place, throw me a rope will ya?

Oh Nanette! I have seen that the hurricane is going to be stalling too. I wish you could have gotten that dang check. Good you are higher up at least. No leaks in your place I hope right?

Yeah on the check. I'm sitting at -$453.26 as it is. About $200 of that in overdraft fees. So much for getting ahead. I do have a leak in the guest bathroom coming out of the ceiling vent. When it really pours I have to have a bucket under it.

@TiarasOceanView It just gets so frustrating and stressful. I just wish whoever was picking on us would go after somebody else for a change.

I have seen that some areas have been pretty badly damaged. Let's hope that the worst is over.

It went off-shore but it's coming back up through Houston @LadyDuck so that means more rain until probably this next Saturday.

@LadyDuck It's gonna take months or even years for them to recover.

I've been watching the news and hope the worst is over. It's never fun with storms of that magnitude. Be smart and stay safe.

@DianneN You would think me living half-way between Dallas & Houston that I wouldn't be affected but you just never know anymore. And thank you.

Good thing you are on high ground. I am seeing some awful pictures of what Harvey has done and is doing in parts of Texas

And the worst part is is that it is stalled out @Kandae11 , which means instead of it rotating off, it's just spinning in place.

@Kandae11 Nope, and by the time it's all over with, the grass will be as tall as I am.

@nanette64 From someone who has experienced many hurricanes - that doesn't sound good.

We have been watching the news and it sounds like you have quite the weather system to get through. Glad that it least calmed down a little bit for you. Here's hoping that the rain does the same!

If it doesn't quit by this next Saturday, it's gonna be a mess @Hate2Iron .
