Every afternoon, a man on his bike with side car will pass by and shout, taho(with that "o" that goes for few seconds)
Taho is a Typical Filipino snack food(some have it for breakfast), made out of silken tofu, with arnibal(molasses), tapioca pearls and it will be very special if there is condensed milk on top.
Definitely a sweet treat.
We can say that it is a street food. Sold on the street by a peddler, though the usual is an aluminum bucket is hanged on a bamboo yoke, carried by the man's shoulder, ours had "evolved", a bike with side car.
Taho can be eaten with the used of straw or with a spoon. And they are sold warm.
The sweet treat is rich in protein too, from the tofu.
Have you tried this sweet treat?
Do you have some snacks being sold by peddlers around your area too?

No - but it looks good! Reminds me of bubble tea a little. We have food vendors, but it's diferent - these are usually in camper trucks with little kitchens in them

It's my favorite. Taho was introduced to me by my cousin when I stayed with them in Cubao. He said I should try it since it was his favorite breakfast treat. It because a favorite of mine since then too.

@Lucky15 No I havne't. But I think I wouldn't like it. I am not into sweets and I like taho because of the soya and not because of the syrup. So I like mine with less syrup.

it is a good source of protein but we must make sure that the preparation is clean. i saw some news that there are some who sell taho that are prepared in unclean environment (in Manila, but not in our own places).

I also like taho but I ask the vendor not to put too much molasses (sugar) in it.
