The reason I am adding this link is because it was not written by one of those major CNN type news casters, this was a written by a local news station and perhaps some of you who are not from the US can get a clearer idea about hurricane Harvey and how it affected the southeast coastal area of Texas.
I hope this helps give a better picture of the events of this tragic storm.
Oh, I used a screen shot that the link had instead of one of my own pictures.
By Kevin Sullivan, Arelis R. Hernández and David A. Fahrenthold HOUSTON – Harvey made landfall for a second time on Wednesday...

That guy to the right in the blue jacket looks like he's holding the STOP sign @rebelann . That would say it all wouldn't it?

It is very tragic and people there will be suffering for months and some for years. One family that I saw lost 6 members of their family. Just heartbreaking. I have a friend in Houston that has put some videos on her website and we can see the devastation, pain and tears. Very sad!

@rebelann I was wondering how far you were. Thanks for telling me.
I saw a video today about New Orleans and they are still recovering from the damage done by hurricane Katrina.
I also saw a video about South Asia and they also got hit by bad weather and they had over 1200 deaths and it's still climbing.
We are nowhere near the coastline and we've had some devastating storms both is summer and winter but nothing like Houston.
Sadly, with weather, anything can happen anywhere.
Extreme rainfall has led to devastating floods across Nepal, India, and Bangladesh, killing nearly 1,200 people and displacing millions.

Hurricanes are nasty storms and boy am I glad I never have to endure one @1hopefulman
Down in my territory the worst we expect most of the time is a really strong sand storm, hopefully that won't happen any time soon.

It's always tragic when these kinds of storms hit the coastal areas, one reason I'm 700 miles northwest of that territory.
Katrina was a category 5 hurricane and they seemed to recover eventually so I imagine since Harvey is said to be a category 4 hurricane that they too will recover somehow.
Personally I don't get why anyone would live so close to a coast line, it's not like this is the first time they've suffered a hurricane.

Have seen where they were rescuing a horse and I was really glad for that and another a St. Bernard Dog and other people like a Mother and Baby being lifted by air.
Also a lot of people are putting in claims right now.
Work to repair all will take two to three years to repair at least so they are asking volunteers to stay around.

Yes, the rain is the worst part of that storm @lovinangelsinstead21 and you did spell it correctly.

Thank you for sharing that new account. It seemed less sensational yet just as distressing as the major media outlets.
