Favorite "Strange" Songs #10 - "Strange Brew"

Now that I am, for the third time in my life, officially a resident of Colorado Springs, it feels kind of strange being away from Manitou. So I thought now is a good time for a "strange" theme. Hence, my Favorite "Strange" Songs, series, which is songs with "strange," or a variation, in the title. #10 belongs to "Strange Brew" by Cream. From their 1967 album, Disraeli Gears, "Strange Brew" (released as a single prior to inclusion on the album,) began life as a tune called "Lawdy Mama." Producer Felix Pappalardi, along with his wife, turned that tune into "Strange Brew." Instead of Jack Bruce, the song's vocals were performed by Eric Clapton. The song performed well enough, reaching #17 in the UK, although it failed to chart in the US. I have a fondness for 60's psychedelic music, and "Strange Brew" more than satisfies my needs. It's a classic song from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame trio. Enjoy! (Info verified by Wikipedia)

Congratulations (?). Sit down and enjoy a Colorado-brewed Coors. You deserve it after surviving moving. Oh, good song, too.

They were such a great band. Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker did an album with Gary Moore, as BBM, called Around the Next Dream. It's really good.
