Dead girl walking!

I am the mother of four beautiful kiddos.. 3 girls and a boy. 20, 19, 17, and my boy is 14. When they are babies and you are getting next to NO sleep, when they are teething and you rock them all night long... When getting out of your pajamas is "dressing up"..... When a child, any child calls mom you turn around to see what they want... During these times that you feel like dead girl walking.... Walking zombie... Everyone tells you "better enjoy it because they grow up so fast!" Here's the kicker... That is the truth. Back when my kiddos , especially my first two girls were babies, I didn't think I'd survive the endless sleepless nights... Now, I look at them all grown up and ache just to hold them in my arms once more. I wish I could go back and reraise them knowing everything I know now. I was more like RoseAnne than Carol Brady. Now, I see all these super moms with their super gadgets and stand in awwww... Oh how easy they make it look. In all seriousness... Don't blink!!!!

Although we only had 2 children, I can totally relate to your thoughts and feelings here. And regardless of what's in the hands of the parents, their time with their babies will fly by also. But if we've done our job right then you'll find that as young adults you'll love spending time with them. I know that our son is a true delight and we look forward to any time spent together with him and his wife.

Enjoying them as adults is wonderful. I do have that one part of me that says "Thank God, we made it! They are grown!" I have a beautiful little grand baby who reminds me so Much of her momma at that age.. Brings back so many memories. It's so cliché, but the seasons truly do change.

So so true! It seems like yesterday and forever ago that my kids were babies and toddlers. Now they're all grown with kids of their own, and my daughter is now a grandmother. Life just moves too fast.

*sigh!* You bring back so many memories with this discussion, Baya... I am not sure which emotions to feel or which emoji fits here best... SMH! Growing up too fast is what children are the best at, no matter who their parents are! We all get to have that experience! Hmmm... I suppose you could sneak up on your kids and hug them, but that is as close as you will be allowed to get to cradling them in your arms once again... Believe me, I KNOW!
