The other use of an umbrella

I met a friend this afternoon who still works as a nursing aide in the hospital where I was the HN for 7 years. We had a good laugh when we reminisced the past: when we had to fetch a nurse who lives just a stone’s throw from the hospital. I was on 3PM-11PM shift and the nurse, MRM was the night duty nurse (11PM-7AM).
I recalled how my nursing aide friend, DB, used my umbrella (it was drizzling that time) to hide herself when she peed at the road side. When a tricycle was going to our direction, she showed her face but hid the lower part of her body because the peeing session was still ongoing.
A long umbrella that is not fold-able can be used to shoo away dogs, and can be a defense item for people who want to harm us. The rainbow umbrella of our late mother is still usable until now.
Do you know other uses of the umbrella aside from rain and sun protection, and the things I mentioned above?

when i and my sister bring that rainbow umbrella when we go to church, i would tell her that she can use the parasol as her cane to assist in her walking, but she refuses it, so i carry that umbrella.

@m_audrey6788 it balances your gait, right? and it is our weapon when barking dogs approach us.

I don't bring an umbrella all the time except when it's raining. So I don't have any use for it other than that. I don't walk under the son too so I don't need an umbrella.

since i am commuting going to the hospital (but i drive when i go to school like this morning), i always have my folding umbrella with me. i sweat profusely especially if it is super-hot, my sweat drips down from my forehead.

@toniganzon the medical ward here has no AC, and it has so many patients that all the aisles are with patients in folding beds. and i always walk because i have to check my students and their patients as well. it is a tiring task but i enjoy it especially if my students are hard-working and responsible.

@ridingbet It is always sunny here.
But in case it is not sunny, I surely would go to the other side of the street.

It wasn't something meant for protection yourself from perverts. As for umbrella, I'm thinking of buying one since mine has holes already.

why, don't you think an umbrella can be a defensive device? it can be. even driving away astray dogs, we can use the umbrella.

yes, especially the tip of the umbrella is sharp. when the umbrella is a folding one, the tip is not sharp but it is flat.

I guess that is an interesting way to use an umbrella. I just would not recommend that for most people. Shooing away animals or for protection from strangers, etc. is a good one though.

yes, the umbrella should not be used to cover oneself in peeing. my co-employee just had to hide the act she was doing that time.

I would have never thought to use it for hiding while you pee! Awesome idea!1 person likes this

@ridingbet That is a great idea. How about hanging items from the skeleton and making a gigantic wind chime.

@velvet53 i think that is also a great idea. the umbrella should be hung outside where the wind blows so the chimes will make beautiful sounds.

i think the 'skeleton' of the umbrella can be used to clip some pictures and hang it in a convenient space in your room. we can use our imagination in using the umbrella.

yes, as long as the cloth is already removed. if the spikes are sturdy, then maybe we can even use clothespin to hang handkerchiefs, socks, and even underwear.
