After months of delays due to my baking and cooking pre-orders, finally I got the chance to join the training for ERT (Emergency Response Team). My childhood dream is to become a doctor ,one big reason why I am so eager to attend the training. Aside from my frustrated dream, another reason is The BIG ONE. The Philippines, especially the NCR is closely monitoring the West Valley Fault ( since last year) that may affect 99% of Metro Manila. And since the first month of 2017 we already experienced several earthquakes ,not only here in metro cities but also in some part of our country. Actually, my house is more or less 20 meters away from the red line (fault line) The whole of Metro Manila is conducting an earthquake drill (every now and then) in preparation for this (God Bless us). Safety measures are being taught in every municipality, schools ,offices and malls. My two sons have joined the Red Cross First Aid training and ERT and I decided to joined them too. For the next months aside from baking and cooking I will be attending more trainings and seminars too. Prayers for the Philippines Have a great day dear friends and Mylotters jaiho (^__^) September 20,2017 Wednesday 12:42am (PT)

Yes even basic knowlege of first aide is very important, I remember I was a Volunteer Red Cross Youth during my time in the University, just this morning one of my workers got cut in the junkyard and nobody knew how to stop the bleeding, I went out and simply applied direct pressure with cotton and my palm. Congratz to you for being able to do what you want to do and at the same time be of service to our people. Im lucky our property isn't in the fault line cause that Philippine fault is so long.

Yes my friend, my house is just a few meters away from the markings. Each time I saw the line , I keep telling myself that I have to do something. My sons joined the Red Cross volunteers months ago and completed the sessions ( I am glad they did) So, I decided to joined them too. Glad that your place is not among those in direct hit. I have seen enough on what happened in Baguio decades ago. I was there too coz it's my hometown.

I've felt it several times and last August there was one earthquake that reaches 5+ that give me goosebumps. I had never been scared of earthquake after experiencing the strongest one in 1990 that hit my native land the Baguio City. I lived here in Taguig CIty and my house is just a few steps away from the fault line. Each time I saw the markings I keep telling myself to do something, to be prepared for this disaster that might happen (anytime soon). That's the reason why I pushed myself to attend the training and seminar, and will do my best to finish all the sessions with God's help.

@hereandthere the training will go on for a month (every Saturday) But ,it won't stop there coz there is always a refresher session too to help us (volunteers) remember what we have learned.

We have an ERT here in our office as well. I wanted to join but due to schedule constraints, I had to beg off. Will join one once my schedule permits it.

Been eyeing this opportunity months ago since my sons joined the ERT. I am glad that I finally got the chance to attend the training and, I promised myself to complete the whole sessions as well as give time whenever there's a refresher sched for all volunteers. I wish you will find time to join it soon my friend

That training is invaluable Jaiho. It is good to know these things. So great that you two sons are also doing it. It is amazing you found the time to do this with all the baking too.

Thank you my friend. Prayers is the best weapon. I have seen enough during the Baguio disaster, I was there so I knew it. Now I lived here in Metro Manila and this big one is a natural calamity that nobody knows when to strike. The only thing that we can do is to be prepared , and that is what I am trying to do now.

@jobelbojel indeed a nightmare. The Big One as described by human intelligence and predicted to (might) kill thousands of lives is no joke at all.

@jaiho2009 I experienced that 1990 earthquake. It was a disaster. I was 8 when that happened. I saw the ground opened and water and mud came out.,

Wow that is really some good public service out there. You really got your HANDS FULL this time around. I couldn't get that possible earth quake out of my mind sometimes because of the last few shakes.

I got scared one time the earthquake strike that reaches 5 and I did feel it. I was having my coffee and I saw how the liquid make wave , I felt a warning. And from that moment I keep asking my son to inform me for the next ERT training. I know I should learn and a must to pursue.
