A 24-hr fasting period starts tonight in observance of Yom Kippur...

Now that the water in the house seems to be back to its normal, clear self (it was brown yesterday) it is time to rewash all the dishes that were in the dishwasher and then clean/scrub the bathtub and shower. Not a task I am looking forward to but it has to be done. After that I can finally take a shower that I wasn't able to take yesterday.
Hopefully I can get all that done and still leave myself with time to eat dinner before the sun sets. I need all the food and water or other liquids I can get because the next time I will get to eat and drink something would be tomorrow after sundown.
Yom Kippur starts tonight at sundown, which means a bit over 24 hrs of fasting for me, which I do every year. No food, water or other liquids from a bit earlier than sunset tonight until sunset tomorrow night. I hope I can last that long without feeling nauseous or weak. I was good last year. Made it with no issues. Hope this year will be the same.
Have any of you ever fasted, whether it was on observance of a religious holiday or for another reason? And for how long was it?

Is it easy for you to fast for such a long time?

Thank you! It's certainly not easy to fast that long, especially when the body is not used to it. But it's mind over matter. It can be done.

@KristenH I made it through the fast without any problems. Did not feel weak or nauseous. And my stomach wasn't growling much either.

Thank you. The fast was good. Made it with no issues. By the way, I am not sure what Yunta is.

I've fasted various times, for different tests that were being done, at the hospital. My husband fasts often, for spiritual cleansing, as the Bible directs him to do. I'm diabetic, so it's impossible for me to fast, without serious results.

If fasting leads to health issues or problems then it shouldn't be done.

@lovebuglena Yes, that's why I never fast any more.
