Perhaps it's time to do some spring cleaning on Facebook

As of today, I have 263 friends on Facebook. That's not a big number to some, but to me it's pretty high, as I am not a popular person . If I go through the list of all my Facebook "friends" I am sure I will find plenty of people who are unknown to me. I will have no idea who they are, and I will have no recollection as to why I friended them in the first place. Then I will find people I know, plenty of whom don't really keep in touch with me or reply/comment on my updates and things I post or share on my wall. Perhaps it is time to do some "spring cleaning" on my FB friends list and only keep those that actually interact with me or are related to me by blood or through family. Wonder how many "friends" I will be left with when I am done. Have you ever gone over your Facebook friends list and did some spring cleaning of your own?

I was planning to do the spring cleaning in my fb account, too. But until now, have not the time to do so. I am sure there are lots who are just spying on me but not interacting.

I remember when I used to play Farmville on FB, I'd friend people who played the game too, so I could increase the amount of neighbors I have in the game. And I wasn't the only one doing that. So, I didn't really interact or keep in touch with them. It was just for game purposes. I don't play Farmville anymore. Wonder if any of those people are still my "friends" or if I've unfriended them.

@lovebuglena I don't play games beside Words but have not done this for I think more than a year. Still, I have to do spring cleaning on my FB. I will delete those who don“t interact with me.

You don't have to do anything then. :)

I have, usually what I do is I just "unfollow" instead of "unfriending" them, unless they did something really offensive. Then only I'd remove them from my contacts.

So, people can follow us on FB without being our "friends"?

@lovebuglena Yes, I think there is an option under Privacy Settings where you can set your preferences.

If I narrow down my list it will be very small.
