Was wondering this about mylot...

I was wondering this about mylot the other day...
Do people with a higher mylot number have advantages over those with a lower mylot number?
Do more people respond to discussions of those with a higher mylot number than those with a lower mylot number?
Do people with a higher mylot number earn more over those with a much lower mylot number?
For example, if person A has a number of (234000) next to his/her username while person B has a number of (2300) next to his/her username, does that mean that person A will get more responses to his discussions and have higher earnings because he has a much higher mylot number?
I hope that is not the case... It wouldn't be fair it seems.

I would say no, our number has nothing to do with our views or our comments received. Instead, it's the number of people who are following you and the number of people that you are following. These are the people who are viewing and commenting on your writings. That's where half your income is coming from. The other half, is from all the discussions you are reading, viewing, liking, and commenting on. Interacting is what earns our paycheck each month.

Sorry, but ALL your income derives from the first part. You do not earn anything at all for anything you do here.

@JolietJake Then I've been misunderstanding this site, how they calculate our earnings. I'm not here to make lots of money, but it would be nice to know, how they do this.

@kobesbuddy The only thing you earn for here is received interaction from other users.
You earn for responses to your discussions, for comments to responses/comments made by you, and for receiving 'likes' to your discussions, response, and comments.
I don't earn for this comment...you earn for it.

Your activity rating has nothing to do with how much you earn for received interaction from other people.

The way I see it, it just shows either how active they are on the site or how long they've been a member. Like JJ said, it simply indicates the number of activities they initiated. It doesn't affect my interaction whatsoever.

When I reply to someone's response, comment, or discussion I sometimes look at the number that person has but it never affects my interaction with that person. But it could be that for some people it does. Who knows?

Everyone gets paid exactly the same for the same received interaction.
As far as responding to discussions, I myself personally don't pay any attention to the numbers next to a name of someone starting a discussion.

@kobesbuddy Those numbers may be insignificant in terms of earnings, but are they insignificant to other members when it comes to interacting? And what's the use of that number aside from just totaling up all the activity we do here that requires us to write/type? Also wondering why likes are not part of this number. Liking is also an activity and an interaction.

@kobesbuddy The numbers next to your name show the number of activities (discussions/responses/comments) you have created

What do those numbers mean, anyway? They are insignificant, for earnings.

I don't think so, it depends individually. Don't worry.

i think people respond to the topic, how it's written, and how the author interacts with them. there are members who joined when mylot restarted in mid-2015 whose activities (number of discussions, responses and comments posted) have already equaled or surpassed those who have been here since the old mylot.

The number represents your interactions so it isn't the same all the time and if you want a higher number you just have t do more interacting.

I know. I was just curious if this number had any affect on people's interactions. Would someone not interact with another person if that person had a pretty low number in ()?

@lovebuglena I never look at it, for me it is more about the content of the post.

I see what you are saying. I would not know. I look at this as not a competition. My goal is to make $5 or more by the end of the month and then work to get more by the 15th. I cannot care about those that make lots lots more than me. I cannot be on My lot all the time. I have days I cannot be on at all. Whatever I make helps me. I look at every little bit helps.

The way I understand it... We get paid on the 15th of the month, but we get paid for previous month's earnings, if we reached $5. So, whatever we make after the end of the month up to the 15th will not go into this payment. It will go toward the next $5. And this assumes we have reached $5 already.
So, for example, if we made $5 by end of September and in October until the pay date we made another dollar, we will only get paid $5. The other dollar will go toward the next $5.

Now this is not a competition to me... but I want to be able to make as much as others, at least by getting $5 every month...

@nangayo When you add up the total number of discussions, responses and comments you made on mylot that is the number you see in ( ) next to your name. Go to your profile page on mylot and you will see those stats.
