This animated series is based on the imaginary world called the Neighborhood of Make-Believe from the show Mister Rogers' Neighborhood and was created by The Fred Rogers Company and Out Of The Blue Enterprises (the company behind Blue's Clues) to carry on Fred Rogers' legacy after his death.
The program is aimed at preschool-aged children, but adults who grew up watching Mister Rogers will recognize a lot of details in the show, such as Daniel Tiger (although this one is the son of the original Daniel) and his red sweater (a nod to Mister Rogers' cardigans), the trolley, the Museum-Go-Round, and King Friday. Even some of the songs are familiar, like "It's a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood" and "It's Such a Good Feeling".
Each episode is split into two segments that have a connecting theme, like taking turns, or sharing, or being patient. Like the Mister Rogers show, it aims at teaching children kindness and emotional maturity without the fast-paced noisy "bombardment" that Fred Rogers disliked in many programs marketed for children.

My son is quite fond of him. In fact, this post was inspired by the fact that he had Daniel Tiger pajamas on.

I saw this one day when I was surfing channels and I think it's very cute. But it doesn't replace Fred Rogers.

Well, no. He was a national treasure. I think it does a good job in trying to fill the space left in children's programming after his passing.

That's ok. Most people don't unless they are around children a lot.

Well... it is a spinoff from Mister Rogers, as I mentioned above.

Never heard of it, but I always liked Mister Rogers. That's cool that they did this.

I got a bit teary eyed when I saw the show for the first time. It was Daniel putting on his sweater and changing his shoes that did it.
