Father Christmas, is that you? I'm sure I heard your sleigh bells jingling. You're both a little bit early and rather late. Have you been at the eggnog again, or did Mrs Christmas ask you to leave after finding you in a compromising position with your two favourite elves? Actually, have you counted your elves and checked in on your reindeer? They may be joyriding. Of course, there is the possibility that it wasn't you at all, Father Christmas. It may merely have been some merry wind chimes jingling in a garden under the weight of a light breeze. But I like my first thought, and we should always trust our instincts, no? Although ... It could have been a wizard casting a spell. Or the bells that ring to tell all the toys to go back to sleep after their night time adventures. Perhaps a Tooth Fairy doing her rounds and collecting little milk teeth. It's a world of possibilities.

I guess kids would be excited about this Christmas season. Papa Santa will appear sooner or later.

@Poppylicious I do agree with that. I wish I can have a Santa costume to surprise my little niece. Dream comes true for her.

Father Christmas is apparently very early this year. I couldn't tell you where it was just now but I actually saw a shop window ready for Christmas in September. Me wonder what the shop would do on Guy Fawkes day because they left no room for it.

@Poppylicious I am alright for Christmas decorations this year from Poundland because I bought them all after Christmas last year at 5p each In fact I've got so many stupid Christmas things it's ridiculous and I bought so many of the things to do a make of my grandson that my daughter is planning on giving an entire party for the children in her block of flats and making it a craft party I know what you mean though about it not being Poundland anymore because I noticed they've got an awful lot of things at £2 now. I suppose it's still cheap. I do see shops doing things for both on Bonfire Night because they department store Boswells in Oxford always has fireworks

I've never really seen shops selling anything for Bonfire Night. Poundland {which needs to change its name to Not-a-Pound-Land} has some lovely little Christmas trinkets on the shelves. I'd much rather see Christmas items than Halloween. :)

@Jackalyn Ah, I only ever see fireworks for sale in Tesco! I've discovered that Poundstretcher is cheaper than Poundland for lots of things. It's a bit of a pain trying to remember where the best deals are at!

It could be Jack Skellington doing his Nightmare Before Christmas spiel nearer to Halloween lol

I like the idea of Father Christmas going around. May be he is making a map of all the available chimneys.

@Poppylicious He surely has a long list of "bad" boys and girls. I wonder if he still use pen and paper or an electronic device.

@LadyDuck Oh, he has a Tablet, Android obviously. None of this iOS Apple malarkey. He's very tech savvy.

@poppylicious Now I'm depressed. Please let the tinkling bells be nothing more than noises in your head - I'm not ready to cope with the Ho Ho Ho horrors just yet.

I'm still flummoxed by the noise and so I really can only assume that it WAS Father Christmas. Ho! Ho! Ho!

He has been leaving a few early gifts here and there at our place. Funny Santa Clause!
