I recieved a phone call and emails the other day about people in our area being evacuated. I should have made a note that one of the people who told me that said, when I told her I hadn't heard any such thing, that the alert only came to people with Smartphones (or to that effect). Well, turns out there was no evacuation in our immediate area -- either voluntary or mandatory. Some folks in certain situations hear something and don't bother to check the facts--they just go into "the sky is falling" mode. So--no evacuations here right now. I still have the suitcase packed -- but I have the feeling I'll just wind up unpacking it, as I hear on the news that they are a bit closer to getting fires under control. Things could flare up again, but I'm not going to freak out.

Better to be unpacking than walking out the door suitcase in hand.

Hope you don't have to evacuate but better to be prepared and ready to go if need be. Those fires certainly aren't anything to fool around with.

Hope you are feeling relieved with the possibility of evacuation out of the way.
