Count Down

You may remember awhile back that I had mentioned that I've had roughly 13 really close calls to meet my 'maker'. Well, we can add a couple more to that. Friday morning I was going into town to meet with the Editor of the paper and when I got to the two main highway sections, I was unable to see to my right because of dense fog and the sun reflecting through it. Even though I was moving slowing out into the lane, a pick-up truck almost tore the whole right side of my car off. And do you think when he saw me creeping out into his lane he would have hit the horn? Hell no. No wreck. Later in the day I went to dump, clean & refill the donkeys water tub. I always squeeze between the barb wire to get from my side yard into the pasture. Well, my right knee got caught on the RUSTY, barb spikes; and wouldn't let go. No blood flow; which was creepy. I did the do and came in the house and scrubbed the boo-boo with Apple Cider Vinegar and applied hot, wet compresses to pull out any poison. Saturday morning I go out to clear more of the 6' tall Goat Weed from the pasture. The stems on these suckers are pretty substantial and I got hit a few times, which is no big deal; as a rule. Well.....a few minutes after being hit, I felt some pain in my left wrist. I look at it and there is a huge blood clot that is black and blue. Well crap!! I raised my arm to let the blood flow towards the shoulder, but De Nada. I slapped my forearm, swiveled the wrist and shook the whole arm . Nope. Decision time. I went to the ER and yes I did bust a blood vessel, but fortunately no clot that was going to head for my heart. They told me to wrap it and take an antibiotic. Came home and wrapped it and after a few hours the blood bubble disappeared; however it is seriously black and blue. So yeah, more to add to the total number of escapes.

I always joke with my daughter that if she doesn't hear from me via email daily that she needs to send the cops out to find me; as chances are, I'm probably laying out in one of the pastures somewhere @Happy2BeMe . And that's providing that the Fire Ants haven't eaten me or the coyotes have hauled me off. Geez!!

I'm very happy that truck didn't clobber you. That would have been the end. I'm glad the other two weren't as life threatening and easily taken care of.

Me too. It would have been bad since the speed zone for that spot is 50mph and most of the people are going faster than that. The wrist is still black and blue. I went out yesterday for 2 1/2 hours and pulled some more weeds. No boo-boo's though @just4him .

@nanette64 You should pay more attention Nanette. I also tend not to be careful, I do things too quickly.

@LadyDuck I know right? And you would think considering some of my physical health issues that I would be more diligent.

Well it sounds like you need to take better care of yourself. You know when I do things to myself like hurting myself or something else happens I look upwards and I say Lord your wayward child has done it again. I do believe you have a guardian angel looking out for you. I will put in a prayer for you so that lucky star shines over you.
