Feeling Sick

Last night when the boyfriend and I were grocery shopping, I experienced a random sharp, shooting pain which ripped through my lower abdomen, from my bellybutton down into my groin. It felt like my bellybutton was being ripped out, for lack of a better way to explain it. This repeated once and I felt uneasy, not knowing what the heck could be causing it. On the way home I experienced another sharp pain above my bellybutton, and then a few more times throughout the evening I experienced the pain again, though not as intense as it was in the store. Now I am feeling sick to my stomach and am feeling very uncomfortable. I'm not really in pain, but it feels like pain could start at any minute, if that makes sense. Of course this is not good for my health anxiety. I know that sometimes pain is just pain and not indicative of anything serious being wrong. But I always freak out over every new ache or pain thinking that I'm going to die. If this continues and/or gets worse I will probably make a trip to the ER just to makes sure everything is alright in there. I read that bellybutton pain can be a sign of appendicitis, although I don't think that's what this is. Maybe I just have indigestion. Have you ever experienced anything like this?
