Favorite "Wild" Songs #10 - "Watching the Wildlife"

Do I dare? Do I dare rip off yet another idea from @FourWalls ? She is counting down her favorite songs with "wild" in the title, so why not? Counting the time it took to ensure that there is a You Tube link for each song, it took me all of ten minutes to compile my ten favorites, so here we go: #10 in my series is "Watching the Wildlife" by Frankie Goes to Hollywood. (By the way, it's early yet, but so far there are no matches!)
From their 1987, and final, album, Liverpool, "Watching the Wildlife" was the final single from the group.
If you were around in the 1980's, you more than likely remember Frankie Goes to Hollywood's mega hit, "Relax" (possibly the most instantly recognizable song to emerge during that decade,) or their protest hit, "Two Tribes."
Well, "Watching the Wildlife" sounds absolutely nothing like either of those classics, which might explain why it failed to chart in the United States. "Watching the Wildlife" did hit in four countries, however, reaching Top 40 status in three of them (#28 in the UK, #24 in Ireland, and #23 in Germany.)
Interestingly, the cassette single featured an instrumental version called the "Condom Mix," with the idea that the tape would be packaged with a condom, which, due to some rule or other, would have negated any chance at counting on the UK Singles chart, which put the kibosh on that idea. According to Wikipedia, however, promotional copies, with condom, are still out there for the finding.
While it might not quite live up to the glory that was Frankie, "Watching the Wildlife" was their most radio-friendly tune. A bit different from what fans had come to expect, but a fine song nonetheless.
Enjoy!

It wasn't a hit over here, so unless you owned the album, it's almost certain that you wouldn't have heard it.

Love this one so much more than "Relax." I liked "Two Tribes" better than "Relax." Frankie say play something other than "Relax."

Remember Relax. That was a weird period in music for me. The musicians in the group wore some wild looking outfits, of course, you could say the same for the hippie generation.

Don't forget the hair. 80's bands had great hair.

@dgobucks226 - I love what I've learned about that decade. I was born in 64, so I was too young to participate.
