Case of the Mystery Poop

Last year, my daughter kept finding little poops in the back yard that were more cat-sized than Lab-sized. We thought our neighbor who shares a wall was the culprit since she has complained to the city about us on every possible thing she could come up with. She has a Jack Russell and they have little cat-like poops. Last night, my daughter was outside picking up poop when she heard a noise and turned just in time to see our neighbor behind us toss a dog poop over the fence into our yard. When he saw her looking his way, he suddenly ducked and then slinked back into his house. He lives with his aunt and she also has a Jack Russell. So, were they the original culprits? Or are they new culprits? We had a webcam set up that looked down our side fence line last year and the mystery poop stopped appearing. Do we need to now put up a webcam into the back yard as well? Do you know how it feels knowing that two of our three neighbors despise us so much they'll do anything to file a complaint against us? *sigh*

@Shavkat A friend of mine told me where she saw them being sold. If I can get another friend to take a day trip there, I might try to pick one up. Or I might make my own and hang it on the gate.

@jerzgirl It is nice to have this. I hope you can install like this in your fence.

I think I would get the Webcam set up again and hope that you can catch them. I once had neighbours who threw rubbish over the fence when they were sitting in their swimming pool and one day it hit me so I threw it back and pointed out to them that it'll come from their side of the fence. They were suitably embarrassed.

I know. If I could record their shenanigans, we could then charge them with harassment and have visual evidence to prove it's not just our word against theirs.

@jerzgirl I think that is the best thing if you can get it. Then they cannot pretend it is not them.

It is frustrating, I like the web cam idea. Maybe put up some fake ones and real ones both, then they would not know when they were being filmed.

She ended up sending back the wifi cameras and an 8 camera hardwired set was delivered today. The others immediately failed the seller's "guarantee" of what they could do. She also learned after trying to use them that they required an SD card - except there was nowhere anywhere to put one. This new set has a DVR,software, and four extra cameras because we're only starting with 4. She also got motion sensitive spotlights that work really well. Already have one on the porch. She's still working on running wire for the cameras, so they can't be used yet. Yesterday morning, she found blood smeared on the front door frame. This morning, there was more blood on the glass. We took pics, but we don't know who, how or why.
