Greg Horton who was walking in a park in London Ontario Canada heard a man who seemed to have mental problems yelling and it appeared he was beating himself up. Horton called the police to report the man who was sitting on a swing. When the policeman arrived to the park where the incident took place, the policeman did not confront the person who was sitting on a swing. Horton reported the story that the police officer has a chat with the man with the mental problems for a period of 30 minutes by sitting next to the man with the mental problems before the policeman and the man with the mental problem calmed down and both of them walked away from the swing set without any incident.

That's a great ending to the story. We saw the opposite happen in Fremantle a few days ago. It was quite distressing for all concerned but we didn't feel the police had much empathy at all.

Another kind police story that isn't played up.
