Today is CHildren's Day at my son's school. The teachers had decided to hold this event after school reopens ( after 9 days holidays due to Diwali). Every student has to bring at least one type of food to school to share with the whole class. So you can imagine how much food the kids are bringing to school. My son's class consists of 38 students, 38x 38 food= 1,444 food today! I doubt they could finish them, so everyone has to bring 2 lunchboxes to bring back the food and drinks. I bet there will be lots of tidbits, candies, chocolates ,all those unhealthy food! Anyway, kids are kids, that is how they celebrate after exam period. What did you bring to school on children's day?

@peachpurple I do agree on that. But then, it wasn't often for the kids to munch candies.

Our Children's Day is on June 1st. Usually children will go home in the afternoon. And today the school is nice and they even will offer something like ice cream as gifts for children. And they will have a show in the morning as the celebration.

yes, my son brought back 21 tidbits with candies, chocolates. He also brought back muffins, jellies, puddings, cakes, noodles, fried rice. So you can imagine how much food was left in school

They ask to bring too much food, they should ask only 4 or 6 items to every kid and then divide and share.

@peachpurple This is really too much, I would say 1/4 of sandwich at most, same for all the rest, this is too much food.

@LadyDuck don't know why the teacher insisted that everyone has to bring 38 of the food, really a waste

Schools in India celebrate Children's Day on November 14, birthday of the first prime minister, Jawaharlal Nehru. Usually schools give the children some snacks on this day.

We were never asked to bring food to school, for special days. Instead, it was catered by a woman who lived in town, she did this for a business. On our Birthday or Valentine's Day, we were allowed to bring in cupcakes or treats for our class.
