I've been lax this summer on watering my houseplants. I've already thrown one away that got top heavy and fell out of its pot. Knowing I didn't have the time or inclination to repot it I got rid of it instead.
Doing customers windows recently several have Christmas Cactus's blooming so I decided to begin getting better at watering mine again to enjoy the display.
Much to my surprise when I looked yesterday it already had quite a few buds on the section facing the window. I gave it some water and a couple opened up since then.

I"m supposed to be hemming my husbands work pants, but I'm taking a break here instead.
I came back to edit this since I wrote it on my phone.

I'd like one with yellow flowers. I don't see that very often.

If you get a notifcation that a comment of yours was deleted it's because there was a duplicate of this one, but no one like or replied to it, so I x'd it out.

THis type of cactus isn't ugly especially when it's flowering. But not everyone likes all kinds of plants. You don't have to keep them in the house because your climate is warmer there. Here in Michigan where we get lots of snow and colder weather, they wouldn't flourish outside at all.

That's great it bloomed. I keep thinking I need a cactus with the way I remember to water plants. I have one that needs replanting, but they don't have pots right now at Wal-Mart and won't until February they said. I need to go to a nursery or they suggested Menards.

Odd that they have no pots. Our stores have pots all year long although maybe not quite as many as they do in the warmer months. Our stores have made it into your state, but possibly not where you are yet. I work for Meijer's.

@just4him you could call their service desk and ask before you make the trip. Someone bought dirt for indoor planting a few days ago; I'd think they'd still have some pots around too.

Hah! I tried to comment last night but kept running into an error so finally quit. The error was on my smartphone and possibly unrelated to mylot.
Report should have been repot, but it does make it funny.

@MarshaMusselman It is sad to hear that. I hope there is a good greenery place that these plants can grow well.

I'd like them in my outside garden, too, but they wouldn't grow well here at all.

I still have to finish one of the legs, and I've not done it in years and hope I don't have to do it again either. It's not good for the carpel tunnel and arthritis I have in my hand and finger joints. It will be good to get it finished.

Cactus look pretty when they bloom...Making up for the time they look so thorny and prickly...Touch me not type of vibes.
Heh heh ...Mylot gets me away from things I need to be doing too
Hope the hem got done

The hem did get done, two days before it was due not when I wrote this though. The Christmas Cactuses aren't thorny at all. And very soft to the touch especially when they've not been watered very much. I doubt I'd ever own a prickly cactus as I've fallen in them before while hiking and I don't like them much.
