You would keep pet cats if you already keep pet dogs

My saying this is based on the fact that both dogs and cats are hostile to each other. What I found in my area is that a family keeps pet cats only while another family keeps pet dogs. How can you have pet dogs and cats in the same house while they are each other?
Do you keep both?

@yanzalong It was their nature to fight like a bull. I think it is how we train them.

Mine would spend all day chasing the poor cats up to the top of the trees.
So alas I cannot keep any at least not yet.
I am wishing and wishing for a cat but it seems to no avail.

Poor cat yes.
Hey but cats are a lot smarter and I tell the dog do you think that cat is daft enough to sit up that tree all night because of you.
Its a black cat and he already knows how to escape from him.
Sigh not a cat for me in sight with this dog around behaving like that.

Pet cat and dog can get along just fine. My Aunt has a pet dog and a cat at the same time, they were little when my Aunt got them, and now that they're grown up it's funny cause they don't seem to notice their differences lol

I remember my last cat back in 2009, that's when I got my puppy. They were always together and sleep at night.
Until one time I separate them for a week, after that they no longer recognize each other, always fighting when ever I try to reunite them.

I know some family have dogs and cats but I also believe these are the worst enemy in the house.
