Swelling

It has been raining for 3 days now; sometimes it gets sunny but after a few hours, the clouds weep again. Since yesterday too, the rains kept on pouring. Last night, it was the sound of the rain that lulled me to sleep. Today, the atmosphere is gloomy and raining once again. I am thinking too about the river here, which is the largest river in our country. Since our province is the catch basin, and hearing from a student that the overflow bridge near the city proper is already flooded, I am hoping against hope that the river won’t swell again. It is difficult for those people in far-flung areas to come to the city if there is no more transportation available. Although during summer we hoped for rains, this time, we wish the continuous rain will stop and the river recedes. If the river swells again, I will have to wait for announcement from the provincial government here if classes and duty will be suspended tomorrow.

I am sorry to hear that. It rained last night here in Metro Manila. But during the days, the weather is just gloomy. I just bring an umbrella whenever I go outside. Christmas season is approaching and it is getting colder now.

It's raining from last night here, we needed this rain. Today is dark and cold, it looks like a deserted village, nobody is in the streets.

@LadyDuck our October here should be the rainy season already but it was still hot on that month. November, the rains are so severe that it is causing the floods and suspension of classes.

you needed the rain, was your area dry? here, almost all residents are inside their houses because of the incessant rains for 2 days and nights now.

if you can see the pictures of how severe the floods are here now, i think you will not even think of coming here if you are from this place.

It's hard to be in a place where it is a "catch basin". Every time it rains, you are scared that it might flood. We have an officemate here who always would worry when it rains continuously and call her mom if it is already flooding.

@ridingbet Oh, my! It is scary to be in that place then, when it rains non-stop. So, what do you do when it rains non-stop?

yes my lady. my place is the catch basin, and even when the rains already stopped, we still have to be vigilant of possible opening of the dams (like magat dam that is near our province) that might result yo flash floods. instead of the water receding, it might even get worse.

There is never balance, either too little rain or too much. I hope the rain has lessened by now.

yes, and it is sunny, but intermittently, because drizzles still occur.

the second longest bridge is now about to reach the critical level, and i pray the flood water will not cover the bridge.
